Pride Month Challenge ..Remember Stonewall this weekend (daily posts below this one)
THANK YOU!

Lights! Camera! PRIDE!
This weekend, nearly 40 years ago, a movement started that still exists today. The Stonewall Riots are considered the beginning of the Gay Rights Movement in the United States. To this day we continue the fight. Though many walls have been torn down, there are still many more to overcome. To all my friends and 'family' celebrating this weekend at Pride Events (from San Francisco to Toronto to New Orleans)... enjoy the company of those like us and those who support us.

Stonewall Inn in 1969

This is me outside The Stonewall Inn back in April of this year. Statues to remember what happened here.

And thanks to those brave individuals in 1969, Jeff and I were able to enjoy a few drinks in The Stonewall Inn, in April....
If for not any other reason... take the challenge... these two women have been challenged for over 55 years...

After 55 years... how can you deny it!!!
Congrats to Del Martin and Phyllis Lyons.
It is that time of year again... I post a picture here and ask you to spread the word. Take this picture, post it on your blog or website. Once you do, let me know (or let me know if you see the picture somewhere and I will post the link in this post, which will remain at the top of my blog for the month of June)... I did take the picture above a couple of months ago, as I did for the one in the header. Both are of our rainbow flag that hangs proudly on the front of our house in our Gayborhood. The original challenge photo from three years ago is in my left sidebar.
This year I am asking for a bit more though. Once you post the picture and let me know that you have, tell a story... your coming out story... or why you have not come out... or just why you posted the picture and why you felt it was important to spread the rainbow... I have posted my coming out story before, kinda... so here it is again...CLICK HERE for The Coming Out of Kelly.

HAPPY PRIDE!
I came out to my mom at 13, was in denial for a few years hoping I could change. I realized in college change was not possible and so I had to begin a journey of self-acceptance.

I don't really have a story, I'm straight. LOL I guess I just feel it's important to spread awareness, celebrate diversity.

Wow. It was last pride month that I first visited your blog and posted your pride pick and linked back to you. A million cosmos later and I'm still reading your daily posts. So this is like our one year anniversary. Does that make us blog soul mates? LOL. I will post the pic soon with one of my own as soon as I get my coming out story typed out. I'll let you know. Happy Pride, handsome.

Kelly, my photo is up and posted. Of course I didn't exactly tell a coming out story, instead I told of how I came to know of you and your blog. I'll do the coming out story later this week.

BTW, I didn't know how to make the picture stay at the top of my sight, so I put it in a post and then made it my header...That should do the trick.

I have put the flag this year, though I am not gay. I am just a 51 year old disabled woman who thinks that all love is beautiful. I worked in clinical research in both AIDS and oncology until I became disabled. Mow I have a blog that celebrates being male and gay. So, happy Pride everyone!

Love the photo, love your coming out story, and Bossy just went back and read it again even though she's read it before.
Bossy figures she will read it once a year around this time, just like she reads the story of baby Jesus at Christmas.

FYI, I am leaving up my flag through July as San Diego Pride starts July 19th. Gotta represent at least through my local Pride right?

I've posted the pride pic in hopes of keeping you in the gayborhood. It's part of a photographic interpretation of the "end times," and you are one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Don't let it go to your head.
